Senior and Caverton post opposite earnings as aerospace and offshore demand shift
UK‑listed engineering group Senior plc reported a 38% rise in adjusted pre‑tax profit to £34.8 million for the six months to 30 June 2026, with revenue increasing 7% to £390.8 million. Growth was driven by its aerospace division, whose sales rose 13% year‑on‑year, and a defence segment that saw a 10.4% revenue increase, supported by customers such as Boeing, Airbus and Lockheed Martin. Senior said the results position it well ahead of a £1.4 billion takeover by a consortium including Tinicum and Blackstone, expected to close by the end of 2026.
Nigerian offshore services provider Caverton Offshore Support Group Plc posted a pre‑tax loss of N8.66 billion for the same half‑year, reversing a N2.07 billion profit recorded a year earlier. Revenue fell 11% to N14.68 billion, while administrative expenses surged to N7.90 billion, driving the operating loss. The decline reflected weaker revenue from aviation and marine support operations and higher cost pressures across the business.
