Senior Center Summer Festivals Bring Music and Community to Germany and France
Senior homes in Germany and France hosted lively summer festivals that combined music, dance, and food for residents, families and local guests. At the Clemens‑Kessler‑Haus in France, volunteers aged 11‑16 helped serve finger food, ice cream and bowle while the Garde Fortuna performed acrobatic routines and residents danced to songs led by Andrea and Larissa.
In Selters, Germany, the St. Franziskus senior centre featured the Veeh‑Harfen‑Orchester, a resident drum group called "Let's fetz" and a live concert by the band Orange Moon. A tombola and a buffet of cakes, grill sausages and soft‑serve ice cream rounded out the celebrations. Both events raised funds for their respective senior‑centre associations and highlighted inter‑generational cooperation.
