Senior citizens celebrate community milestones in Brazil
Various community celebrations for senior citizens were held in Brazil. At the Padre Firmo Pinto Duarte Filho Elderly Coexistence Center, the 26th anniversary was marked by a Spring Ball featuring dance, poetry, and a parade to select the 2026 Spring King and Queen. The titles were awarded to José Domingos, 89, and Beny Souza, 68.
In Sobradinho, the local government organized special programming to commemorate Elderly Day at the Parque da Feijão Gymnasium. The event, funded by the Elderly Person Fund, included free transportation, lunch, and a dance. During the festivities, Alzira Minetto Hermes was elected the new Muse of the Third Age, succeeding Matilde Lago. The ceremony also recognized Marina Bilhan and Loeli Guerreiro Ribeiro as princesses.
