Detran-MS rolls out Guichê 60+ to aid seniors in accessing digital traffic services

The Department of Transit of Mato Grosso do Sul (Detran‑MS) has introduced a dedicated "Guichê 60+" desk to help people aged 60 and over use digital government services. Launched in October 2024 at the Hybrid Agency in Dourados and also operating at the Campo Grande shopping agency, the service provides on‑site guidance for accessing the GOV.BR portal, digital driver’s licences (CNH), vehicle documents and other transit‑related benefits.

Customers receive personalized assistance without needing an appointment, and the programme includes fee discounts for senior drivers – a 50 % reduction for those aged 60‑69 and a 70 % discount (paying only 30 % of the fee) for drivers 70 and older. Detran‑MS director of licensing Luiz Fernando Ferreira dos Santos says the initiative recognises the contribution of the elderly generation and aims to ensure safe, independent mobility. Manager Elizangela Ximenes highlighted the positive impact on seniors regaining access to essential services.

The Guichê 60+ is part of the state’s "Junho Prata" campaign against elder abuse and is positioned as a tool for digital inclusion. Detran‑MS plans to expand the service to additional agencies across the state by 2027, having already recorded more than 11,700 assistance sessions.
