Senior in Groß Grönau Defrauded by Fake Police Officers

On Tuesday, 21 July, a senior resident of Groß Grönau in the Herzogtum Lauenburg district was targeted by a fraud scheme involving impersonated police officers. The perpetrators first called the man, claiming a note linking his name and address to a burglary, and warned that a break‑in was imminent. Between 16:45 and 17:45 they arrived at his home on Am Wiesengrund, accompanied by a woman on the phone who further unsettled the victim. The two men, described as about 25 years old, between 175 cm and 180 cm tall, one with black hair and the other with blond curls, seized several valuables, claiming they would keep them “safe” before fleeing with the items.

The Ratzeburg criminal police are investigating the case and have asked the public for information on any suspicious persons or vehicles seen near the address. Tips can be sent to 04541 8090 or kpst@polizei.landsh.de.
