Senior support initiatives launched in Małopolska and Kraków

Various initiatives are being introduced to support the elderly population in the Małopolska region of Poland.

The Sądecki Uniwersytet Trzeciego Wieku is launching the ‘Małopolska dla seniora’ project, funded by the Małopolska Voivodeship. Running from June to October 2026, the program offers educational trips to locations including Wieliczka, Kalwaria Zebrzydowska, Lanckorona, Wiśnicz, and Lipnica Murowana. The project targets residents aged 60 and older from Nowy Sącz and the surrounding county, aiming to promote socialization and physical activity to prevent social exclusion.

In Kraków, mayoral candidate Łukasz Gibała has presented a comprehensive program for seniors. The proposal focuses on financial security through systematic workshops designed to prevent scams such as the ‘grandchild’ or ‘police officer’ methods. The plan includes regular educational meetings led by police, lawyers, and cybersecurity experts in every district, alongside the establishment of free legal aid points to help seniors review suspicious contracts and financial offers.
