Cruz Roja ambulance crash injures paramedics and woman in Tijuana

On Sunday, 26 July 2026, a Cruz Roja Mexicana ambulance collided with a red Toyota Corolla at the intersection of Avenida Margen Derecho and Blvd. José Ortiz de Domínguez in the El Florido colonia of Tijuana. The ambulance, responding to an emergency call, struck the sedan as the car ran the red light. Three paramedics aboard the ambulance were injured and taken to hospital. A female passenger, identified as Lizbeth, was trapped in the Corolla and suffered a suspected pelvic fracture; she was rescued by firefighters and also hospitalized. The male occupant of the Corolla sustained minor injuries. Both vehicles were damaged, traffic was briefly disrupted, and the Municipal Police’s traffic unit opened an investigation to determine responsibility.
