Seniors prepare for Vietnam expedition to promote active aging

Five individuals over the age of 65 are preparing for the Santalucía Seniors Vietnam 2026 challenge, an expedition designed to promote active aging through physical activity and personal achievement. The participants—Pilar, Quique, José, Rafael, and Pablo—will face demanding environmental conditions in Vietnam, including high temperatures, intense humidity, and challenging terrain.

To mitigate health risks, the group received specialized medical training at the Hospital Universitario Fundación Jiménez Díaz. Under the guidance of medical specialists, the training focused on heat adaptation, injury prevention, and physical performance optimization. Quirónsalud is serving as the official medical provider for the third consecutive year.

Medical experts emphasized the importance of constant hydration, breathable clothing, and adjusting activity levels to manage body temperature in humid climates. The initiative highlights the role of physical exercise in maintaining cardiovascular health, metabolic function, and delaying functional decline associated with aging.
