Senise worker seriously injured in six-meter fall

A 23-year-old worker sustained a serious head injury after falling six meters while installing photovoltaic panels at a construction site in Senise, Basilicata.

Following the incident, the CGIL trade union of Potenza and the CGIL Labor Chamber of Senise expressed deep concern, calling for urgent government and corporate action to prioritize workplace safety. The union criticized current practices, specifically calling for an end to ‘cascading subcontracts’ that they claim shift risks onto workers and reduce employer accountability. They also advocated for stricter inspections, a regional observatory for health and safety in Basilicata, and a system to better distinguish compliant companies from those that violate safety regulations.
