Sennheiser experts discuss DECT NR+ wireless technology
Sennheiser experts are highlighting the potential of DECT NR+ (New Radio), a new wireless technology designed to meet the high-performance requirements of professional audio applications. Recognized by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) and included in the IMT-2020 (5G) standard family, the technology is being developed by the DECT Technical Committee under ETSI.
DECT NR+ aims to address gaps left by existing standards by providing a license-free, infrastructure-free solution. Unlike traditional systems, it does not require fixed base stations, as devices can form their own infrastructure. The technology is intended to offer medium range with low latency, potentially fulfilling the technical promises previously associated with 5G for specialized professional use cases.
