Sennheiser introduces Spectera SKM transmitter at LEaT con

At LEaT con 2026, Sennheiser introduced a new digital SKM handheld transmitter for its Spectera broadband system. The Spectera system is designed for live productions and installed applications, utilizing a combination of OFDM, TDMA, and TDD technologies. This allows microphone and in-ear signals to operate simultaneously within a single TV channel.

The new SKM transmitter integrates audio, control, and monitoring data into the same RF broadband channel, eliminating the need for a separate control network. Users can monitor battery status, RF performance, audio levels, signal strength, and connection quality in real time, while also remotely adjusting microphone parameters such as gain and low-cut. The system features low-latency audio transmission and uses Cat cables for antenna connections.

Additionally, partner SoundBase presented its manufacturer-independent RF planning and management software. The software now supports Spectera, including its command function. A new ‘Remote View’ feature allows live monitoring data to be shared across a production network with other team members using a single license, which is intended to reduce network load caused by parallel requests.
