Sennheiser launches Momentum 5 Wireless headphones with upgraded ANC and replaceable battery
German audio company Sennheiser has introduced the Momentum 5 Wireless, the latest iteration of its flagship headphones. The new model adds significantly improved active noise cancellation—up to three times more effective than its predecessor—by doubling the microphones per earcup to four. It also offers immersive spatial audio with head‑tracking, Snapdragon Sound support for aptX Lossless, and future‑ready Bluetooth 5.4 (upgradeable to Bluetooth 6 via firmware).
A key sustainability feature is a user‑replaceable 700 mAh battery, allowing owners to swap the cell with a simple screwdriver, extending product life. Battery life reaches up to 57 hours with ANC enabled, and fast charging is provided. The headphones retain the 42 mm dynamic drivers used in earlier models, support Hi‑Res Audio certification, and ship with a reduced‑size case and plastic‑free packaging. They are available in black, white and denim, retailing for S$599 (approximately $400). Production takes place at Sennheiser’s facility in Tullamore, Ireland, and the launch is positioned as a premium, eco‑conscious upgrade for audiophiles.
