Sennheiser named Official Sound Provider for Formula E

Sennheiser and the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship have entered into a multi-year technical partnership, designating Sennheiser as the Official Sound Provider for the racing series.

The collaboration focuses on integrating professional audio solutions and Sennheiser’s AMBEO immersive audio technology into the championship's global broadcasts. The goal is to capture the unique acoustic characteristics of electric racing, specifically focusing on the upcoming GEN4 vehicle generation. By utilizing advanced microphone setups, signal processing, and modern encoding workflows, the partnership aims to create a three-dimensional soundscape that includes cockpit sounds and trackside atmosphere to enhance the viewer experience.

Dan Cherobier, CTO of Formula E, stated that the immersive AMBEO ecosystem provides a dynamic environment to develop the future of audio in motorsport. Andreas Sennheiser, CEO of the Sennheiser Group, noted that the partnership offers an opportunity to rethink the role of audio in electric racing by translating cutting-edge technology into practical, captivating applications for fans.
