Senniaf activates protection protocols after child's death in Pedasí

The National Secretariat for Children, Adolescents, and Family (Senniaf) has activated immediate protection protocols following the death of a child in the Pedasí district of Los Santos province. The Public Ministry is currently conducting investigations to clarify the circumstances and causes of the death.

As part of the emergency measures, the deceased child's siblings have been placed under the temporary care and protection of a family member. Senniaf has deployed a technical team to provide continuous follow-up and support to the family environment.

Senniaf has issued a warning to the public and media to refrain from sharing any photos, videos, or audio related to the deceased child, citing Law 285 of 2022, which protects the privacy and dignity of minors. Additionally, the Minister of Education, Ventura Vega, addressed the broader context of mental health in the country, emphasizing the need for integrated government efforts to protect students and educators.
