Ethan Mbappé and Senny Mayulu injured during France U21 victory
During France's U21 Euro qualifying match against Estonia, two players sustained injuries that have caused concern for their respective clubs and the national team.
Ethan Mbappé, playing for Lille, was forced off the pitch in the 12th minute after receiving a heavy blow to his right ankle. France Espoirs coach Gérald Baticle expressed concern regarding the incident, stating, “At the moment I am speaking to you, I am worried. I hope I am worrying for nothing, but I am because I saw the action.” Mbappé is scheduled to undergo medical examinations to determine the severity of the injury.
PSG midfielder Senny Mayulu also left the match in the 41st minute due to pain in his left thigh. Unlike Mbappé, the coaching staff opted not to conduct immediate medical tests, preferring to monitor how the injury evolves once the player has rested.
Despite these setbacks, the France Espoirs team secured a 2-0 victory with goals from Steve Ngoura and Jean-Mattéo Bahoya, moving them closer to qualification for the 2027 U21 Euro.
