Senpa dismantles illegal structures in Hoyo Claro
The National Environmental Protection Service (Senpa) has dismantled four unauthorized structures and intervened in an agricultural plantation covering approximately 30 tareas in the Hoyo Claro Natural Monument. The operation, conducted alongside Cotubanamá National Park personnel, took place in the Punta Cana area of La Altagracia province.
During the intervention, authorities seized a chainsaw, two machetes, and an axe. One occupant was ordered to vacate the protected area within five days, while another individual received a technical report for constructing with concrete blocks inside the conservation space. Senpa stated these actions are part of ongoing efforts to prevent recurring illegal occupations and unauthorized agricultural activities in the region, citing environmental protection and biodiversity conservation laws.
