Sense and Sensibility stars promote new Jane Austen adaptation

The new film adaptation of Jane Austen’s ‘Sense and Sensibility’ has held its world premiere in London. Directed by Georgia Oakley and written by Diana Reid, the production features Daisy Edgar-Jones as Elinor Dashwood and Esme Creed-Miles as Marianne Dashwood.

Director Georgia Oakley stated that this version emphasizes a symbiotic relationship between the sisters, moving away from the traditional literary distinction where one represents sense and the other sensibility. Lead actress Daisy Edgar-Jones expressed that she was deeply inspired by Emma Thompson’s Academy Award-winning performance in the 1995 adaptation.

Following the London premiere, the cast, including George MacKay, will travel to Sydney for the Australian premiere on October 1, with a nationwide cinema release scheduled for October 15.
