Sensorion advances SENS-601 gene therapy clinical trials
Sensorion, a clinical-stage biotechnology company, has announced significant regulatory and clinical progress for its lead gene therapy program, SENS-601 (GJB2-GT), which targets hearing loss caused by GJB2 gene mutations.
The company has received authorization from the French National Agency for the Safety of Medicines and Health Products (ANSM) to initiate the Phase I/II HearConnex clinical trial in France. The company expects to file an Investigational New Drug (IND) application in the United States and a CTA in Australia by the end of 2026, with the goal of dosing the first patient in the HearConnex trial by early 2027.
Sensorion reported a cash position of 88 million euros as of June 30, 2026, which is intended to fund operations through the end of 2027. The SENS-601 program is being developed in strategic collaboration with the Institut Pasteur.
