Sensory and culinary workshops held in France for Taste Week

Educational sensory activities were held across France in October 2026 as part of celebrations focused on taste and smell.

In Noirmoutier, the association ‘Les sciences et nous’ organized olfactory workshops for primary and nursery school students at La Guérinière public school. These sessions included games designed to teach children about scent perception. Additionally, the association ‘Les saveurs de Noirmoutier’ hosted an afternoon event where visitors used their sense of smell to identify local products, such as Noirmoutier potatoes, peaches, oysters, and salt.

In Lannemezan, nursery schools participated in the ‘Semaine du Goût’ (Taste Week) through a theme titled ‘Contes à croquer’ (Tales to Crunch). Students engaged in culinary workshops inspired by fairy tales, such as Aladdin and Snow White. These activities used storytelling to introduce children to various flavors and ingredients, including seafood, spices like cardamom and saffron, and different varieties of apples.
