Sentimental Value dominates the Amanda Awards

Joachim Trier’s film ‘Sentimental Value’ dominated the Amanda Awards, winning eight statuettes including Best Norwegian Film, Best Director, and Best Screenplay, which Trier co-wrote with Eskil Vogt.

Other major winners included Pia Tjelta for Best Leading Role in ‘Don’t Call Me Mama’ and Inga Ibsdotter Lilleaas for Best Supporting Role in ‘Sentimental Value’. The People’s Amanda was awarded to ‘The Battle of Oslo’, directed by Daniel Fahre. In the international category, Paul Thomas Anderson’s ‘One Battle After Another’ was named Best Foreign Film.

Additional honors were given to Anna Drakopoulou Sverrisdóttir as Newcomer of the Year and ‘A Mouse Hunt for Christmas’ for Best Children’s Film.
