Senyawa releases Sujud album via Sublime Frequencies

The Indonesian contemporary duo Senyawa, consisting of vocalist Rully Shabara and instrumentalist Wukir Suryadi, has released their album Sujud. The project is published by the Seattle-based label Sublime Frequencies.

Based in Yogyakarta, the duo blends Indonesian folklore with modern experimental music. The album’s central theme is the Indonesian word ‘Tanah’, meaning soil or earth. Suryadi utilizes custom-made instruments, incorporating effects such as loops and delays to complement Shabara’s vocal performances.
