Seocho-gu to host 2026 Seoripul K-String Fair

Seocho-gu and the Seocho Cultural Foundation will host the ‘2026 Seoripul K-String Fair’ from October 17 to 23 at the Rode Art Center within the Seoripul Instrument Street. This modern instrument festival showcases the works of 13 Korean string instrument makers active both domestically and internationally.

The exhibition features 28 handmade instruments, including 21 violins, 5 violas, and 2 cellos. The event begins on October 17 with an opening concert featuring violinist Lee Ji-hye, a professor at the Korea National University of Arts, alongside the Balt Ensemble and Antonin Ensemble, performing on the exhibited instruments.

Throughout the fair, visitors can participate in instrument demonstrations, 1:1 expert consultations, and violin-making workshops. A series of lectures will also be held from October 19 to 21, covering topics such as instrument making in Cremona, Italy, the technical process of arching, and the characteristics of string quartets. Admission to the exhibition is free, while special programs require prior registration.
