Seogwipo officetel fire forces 30 residents to evacuate

A fire broke out on the 10th floor of an officetel in Seogwi-dong, Seogwipo, Jeju, on the evening of September 29. The blaze was reported at approximately 6:22 PM and was fully extinguished by fire authorities about 29 minutes later.

During the incident, approximately 30 residents were forced to evacuate the building. A woman in her 30s residing on the 10th floor was rescued from the building but was transported to a hospital after inhaling smoke. Fire authorities established a temporary medical station at the scene to monitor the condition of the evacuated residents. An investigation into the exact cause of the fire and the extent of property damage is currently underway.
