Seongnam City introduces voice guidance for mobile delinquency notices

Seongnam City has introduced a voice guidance feature to its KakaoTalk integrated delinquency notices to improve information accessibility for the elderly and visually impaired. The system provides audio information regarding unpaid local taxes, parking fines, and other non-tax revenues.

Utilizing Text-to-Speech (TTS) technology, the service allows users to hear key details such as delinquency amounts and specific breakdown information through built-in smartphone screen readers without requiring additional application installations. The implementation follows the technical standards and recommendations set by the Korea Internet & Security Agency (KISA) for supporting digitally vulnerable groups.

Seongnam City plans to sequentially expand this voice guidance feature to other types of mobile electronic notifications to ensure that all citizens can easily access and understand administrative information regardless of their physical abilities or digital literacy.
