Seongnam City promotes Korean culture at Poland's first Korea Day Festival
Seongnam Mayor Shin Sang-jin participated in the inaugural ‘2026 Korea Day Festival’ held in Wrocław, Poland, to promote Korean traditional culture and strengthen international ties.
As the only South Korean local government to participate in the event, Seongnam City showcased the Seongnam Municipal Gugak Orchestra, which performed seven pieces including ‘Sinawi’ and ‘Seoljanggu’. The festival saw significant local interest, with a 1,000-seat venue reaching full capacity and approximately 5,000 people attending the K-food festival.
The visit follows a sister city agreement signed between Seongnam and Wrocław Mayor Jacek Sutryk. This partnership aims to expand cooperation beyond culture and arts into economic, industrial, and sports sectors. Additionally, the Seongnam Industry Promotion Agency established a business agreement with the Polish Defense Industry Association to foster industrial collaboration.
