Seongnam City to develop unique venues for MICE industry
Seongnam City has launched the ‘Seongnam Unique Venue Activation Project’ to develop local cultural, historical, natural, and industrial sites into MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) resources. Unlike traditional hotels or professional convention centers, unique venues leverage the specific characteristics of a location to provide differentiated event experiences.
The city has identified 17 locations as unique venues, including the Seongnam Arts Center, Shingu University Botanical Garden, Yuldong Park Outdoor Stage, and the HD Hyundai Global R&D Center, among others. This year, the city conducted in-depth consulting for five specific sites—Hello Audrey, Jasaeng Medibio Center, Daegwangsa, Saesori Mulsori, and Seongum Arts Center—to develop customized operational and marketing strategies to increase their capacity for hosting events.
By linking Pangyo’s advanced industrial infrastructure with the city’s diverse cultural and natural assets, Seongnam aims to strengthen its urban competitiveness and brand as a destination for corporate meetings, incentive travel, international conferences, and cultural events. The city plans to expand this project stepwise, including further consulting for additional venues by 2027.
