Seongnam Cube Art Museum hosts media art exhibition

The Seongnam Cultural Foundation has launched the exhibition ‘Art in the Age of Vaporization’ at the Seongnam Cube Art Museum. Running from November 8 to November 29, the exhibition features 37 works from the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art’s Art Bank collection.

The exhibition explores the evolution of media art, from early video works by pioneers such as Nam June Paik and Park Hyung-ki to contemporary multi-media installations. It examines how digital environments expand artistic expression and how museums collect and preserve non-material forms like video and sound.

Notable highlights include Lee Eun-jo’s ‘In Your Eyes, Before my own’, a collaboration with Google Arts & Culture Lab that is being unveiled in Korea for the first time. Other featured artists include Kang Ae-ran, Lee Wan, and Jang Seo-young. The museum is also hosting various educational programs, including artist talks and academic lectures, to facilitate public understanding of the digital transformation in art.
