Seosan Haemi Eupseong Festival attracts 240,000 visitors
The 23rd Seosan Haemi Eupseong Festival concluded successfully after a three-day event held from October 9 to 11. Approximately 240,000 tourists visited the 600-year-old Haemi Eupseong Fortress, marking an increase of about 30,000 visitors compared to the previous year.
Under the theme ‘HAEMI UNIVERSE: 1421, the Gate of Time Opens’, the festival integrated historical narratives with modern technology and gastronomy. Key highlights included an airshow by the Black Eagles, a drone lighting show featuring 1,000 drones, and media facade displays on the fortress walls.
A new culinary program, ‘600 Years of Dining’, utilized local Seosan ingredients such as Hanwoo beef and local seafood, which saw high demand through online reservations. Other activities included historical parades, martial arts performances, and mobile-based interactive programs using QR codes to simulate Joseon-era identification.
