Seoul approves redevelopment plans for Mangwon-dong and Sanggye-dong
Seoul has approved major residential redevelopment projects in Mapo-gu and Nowon-gu. In Mangwon-dong, the Mangwon 1 District has been authorized to proceed with a rapid integrated planning redevelopment. The project is expected to transform the area into a large-scale residential complex featuring up to 29 floors and approximately 1,550 households. The plan aims to integrate the new housing with the existing Mangwon Market and Mangridan-gil commercial areas to create a specialized space for living, commerce, and leisure.
In Nowon-gu, the Sanggye Hanshin 1 and 2 apartment complexes have received modified approval for reconstruction. The project will replace the 35-year-old buildings with a residential complex consisting of 13 buildings and 1,140 households, reaching a maximum height of 35 floors. The plan utilizes a floor area ratio of under 300% and includes improvements to local roads, pedestrian environments, and urban landscapes to ensure harmony with neighboring redevelopment projects.
