Seoul districts launch expanded disability support center and youth hub

Seoul’s Dongjak District announced that its Disability Family Support Center will relocate to a larger space within a youth housing complex near Noryangjin Station. The move expands the facility from 38 pyeong (≈1,250 sq ft) to 57 pyeong, adds new training and counseling rooms, and is expected to save about 37 million KRW annually. The upgraded center will open by the end of August and will offer AI‑based digital education and expanded emergency‑care services.

Dongdaemun District opened the DDM Youth Hub in Jeonnong‑2‑dong, a 152.88 sqm venue equipped with XR sports stations, karaoke, a PC zone, and a quiet loft area. After a month‑long pilot, the hub officially opened following a ceremony attended by the district mayor and local officials. Operated by the nonprofit Youth Hope Bridge, the center aims to provide a safe, collaborative space for students from fifth grade to high‑school seniors and to connect them with counseling and welfare services when needed.
