Seoul hosts international youth peace program
Youth from 43 countries participated in the ‘HWPL International Youth Peace Program’ in Seoul, South Korea, from September 17 to 19, 2026. Organized by Heavenly Culture, World Peace, Restoration of Light (HWPL)—an organization with Special Consultative Status with the UN Economic and Social Council—the program focused on the theme ‘We, the Living Legacy of Peace.’
The initiative utilized South Korea’s historical and cultural heritage sites as educational tools to teach peace, coexistence, and mutual understanding. Participants visited locations such as the War Memorial of Korea, Gyeongbokgung Palace, Insadong, and Gwanghwamun. At the War Memorial, attendees visited the Korean War Room and the UN Monument to reflect on the impact of war and division.
The program followed a three-stage structure: Discover, Learn, and Act. The objective is to encourage participants to implement the values of peace they acquire in Korea within their own local communities.
