Seoul hosts major art and design fairs including Frieze and Design Miami

Seoul is hosting a major concentration of art and design events, including the Frieze Seoul and KIAF fairs. These events coincide with the return of Design Miami Seoul, which is expanding its presence in the city. Held at the Dongdaemun Design Plaza, Design Miami’s second edition features the debut of its Gallery Program, bringing six international dealers to interact with regional talents under the theme ‘Resonance’.

Complementing these fairs, Seoul’s museum landscape offers significant cultural sites. Notable institutions include the Leeum, Samsung Museum of Art, which houses both traditional Korean and international contemporary works, and the Whanki Museum, dedicated to the abstract painter Kim Whanki. Other key locations include the Seoul Museum, known for its modernist Korean pieces, and the Korean Stone Art Museum, which showcases sculptures from the Joseon Dynasty.
