Seoul International Garden Expo concludes with 670,000 visitors

The 2026 Seoul International Garden Expo, held at Maeheon Citizens' Forest from October 1 to 27, has successfully concluded after attracting 670,000 visitors. Under the theme ‘Seoul, Green Culture: Citizens' Garden’, the event integrated urban nature with garden culture through various themed spaces.

To enhance visitor convenience, Seocho-gu established temporary parking and developed connected gardens along major walking routes, including Yeouicheon Stream and the paths leading to Maeheon Citizens' Forest Station. The initiative also included the ‘Wish Cafe’ and ‘Yangjae Art Salon’ to blend gardens with art and relaxation.

Local residents played an active role in the event, with 30 Seocho gardeners creating a participatory garden featuring a Taegeuk pattern. Moving forward, Seocho-gu plans to utilize the newly opened Seocho Garden Center to transform the area into a hub for garden education and experiential programs, fostering a permanent ‘Garden City’ culture.
