Seoul introduces food card delivery service for children
Starting November 16, Seoul Metropolitan Government will allow the ‘Kkum-namu Card’ (child meal card) to be used for ordering and paying via the public delivery app ‘Ddangyo’. This initiative aims to expand meal options and convenience for approximately 11,000 children aged 14 and older who are eligible for meal support.
Through a partnership between Seoul, Shinhan Bank, and the ChildFund Korea (Green Umbrella), users can register their cards via the Shinhan Super SOL app. The service will be available at approximately 20,000 affiliated restaurants marked with a child meal icon. To alleviate costs, Seoul and Shinhan Bank will each provide a 3,000 won delivery coupon monthly, totaling 6,000 won per person.
Additionally, the single-use limit for the meal card will be increased from 30,000 won to 50,000 won to accommodate delivery minimums. While the service is scheduled for a pilot run through December, it is intended to transition into a formal program next year.
