Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra performs at San Sebastián Musical Fortnight
The Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra, led by music director Jaap van Zweden, performed at the 87th edition of the San Sebastián Musical Fortnight at the Kursaal Auditorium. The orchestra's debut in the festival featured a diverse musical program ranging from contemporary works to classical masterpieces.
The performance included Jung Jae-il’s “Infierno” and John Adams’ “The Wound-Dresser,” a post-minimalist work for baritone and chamber orchestra. The program also featured Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9 in D minor, Op. 125, accompanied by the Easo Abesbatza choir under the direction of Gorka Miranda. Notable soloists included baritone Matthias Goerne, soprano Gloria Jieun Chol, and mezzo-soprano Ah-Kyung Lee.
