Seoul Police arrest two men after mummified body found in Guro-gu

Police in Seoul have arrested two men following the discovery of a mummified body wrapped in plastic and newspaper at a residential waste collection site in Guro-gu. The body, believed to be an elderly male, was found by a sanitation worker on the morning of the 27th.

Authorities have taken a man in his 60s into custody on charges of abandoning the body, while an 80-year-old man, identified as a local landlord, was arrested for instigating the act. Investigations suggest the body was disposed of on the 22nd under the direction of the older man.

The Guro Police Station has requested an autopsy from the National Forensic Service to determine the exact identity of the deceased and the cause of death. Police are continuing to investigate the specific circumstances and motives behind the disposal.
