Seoul Police Raid Jasaeng Korean Medicine Hospital in Alleged Hundreds‑Billion Won Insurance Fraud

South Korean police seized five sites, including Jasaeng Korean Medicine Hospital and the Jasaeng Medical Foundation in Gangnam, as part of an investigation into alleged insurance fraud. Prosecutors say the hospital prescribed pre‑made herbal remedies to traffic‑accident patients and filed claims that siphoned several hundred billion won from auto insurers.

Four leading auto insurers – Samsung Fire & Marine, Hyundai Marine & Fire, KB Insurance and DB Insurance – filed criminal complaints naming 23 suspects, including the foundation’s chairman and heads of 21 Jasaeng clinics. Police are reviewing prescription records and may expand the probe to other insurers. The hospital has denied the charges, calling them baseless.
