Seoul records highest August apartment move‑ins, half from Banpo Remian Triniwon
Data released by real‑estate platform Zigbang shows that 3,540 apartment units are scheduled to move in during August, the largest monthly total for Seoul this year. More than half of that, 2,091 units, belong to the Banpo Remian Triniwon complex in the Seocho district, concentrating the bulk of the city's new supply in a single development.
Across South Korea, the total August move‑in volume reached 14,342 units, a 3.4% increase over the same month last year and roughly unchanged from the previous month. Gyeonggi Province led with 5,438 units, followed by other regional projects in Suwon, Pyeongtaek and several other cities. Analysts note that while the Bangpo complex will affect the local rental market, the concentration of supply does not signal a broad expansion of housing stock for the whole city. The government plans to discuss real‑estate tax reforms in an upcoming policy forum.
The high concentration of move‑ins in Banpo is expected to influence nearby rental prices and inventory, prompting market watchers to monitor the area closely.
