Seoul St. Mary's Hospital and Gyeongsang National University Hospital sign medical cooperation pact

Seoul St. Mary's Hospital and Gyeongsang National University Hospital have signed a comprehensive memorandum of understanding to expand cooperation in medical treatment, research, and education. The agreement aims to bridge the gap between metropolitan and regional healthcare by sharing expertise in severe and essential medical services.

The two-year partnership focuses on the exchange and support of medical personnel, sharing information regarding public and regional essential healthcare, and collaborating on clinical, educational, and academic research. The initiative seeks to combine Seoul St. Mary's clinical and research capabilities with Gyeongsang National University Hospital's experience in managing regional-level emergency and essential medical services.

Both hospitals are led by directors with similar professional backgrounds; Lee Ji-yeol of Seoul St. Mary's and Hwa Jeong-seok of Gyeongsang National University are both urology specialists who have previously served as heads of robotic surgery centers. Both leaders have also emphasized the integration of advanced information technology and AI into smart hospital systems.
