Seoul Subway Line 5 conducts emergency fire and evacuation drills

The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport is conducting emergency response drills on Seoul Subway Line 5 to prepare for battery fires and tunnel emergency stops. The training involves various scenarios, including a battery fire occurring near Macheon Station and an emergency stop within a tunnel between Dunchon-dong and Gil-dong stations.

Participants, including Seoul Metro and the Korea Transportation Safety Authority, will test initial response protocols, passenger evacuation procedures, and inter-agency coordination. The drills follow recent battery-related fire incidents on Seoul Subway Lines 2 and 3. The training aims to refine safety management systems and ensure effective passenger control during tunnel evacuations.
