Seoul to host Yangjaecheon Moonlight Run to boost night tourism
The Seoul Metropolitan Government is launching a new nighttime running project to boost night tourism and the local economy. The inaugural event, the 'Yangjaecheon Moonlight Run,' is scheduled for the 28th along a 5.8km course spanning Yangjaecheon and Yeoicheon streams.
Designed with a 'sauna' concept to provide a refreshing summer experience, the event will provide participants with themed items such as mini sheep-head hairbands and sauna-style locker key goods. To encourage local spending, finishers will receive coupons for businesses in the Yangjaecheon area, and winners of a creative photo contest will receive additional rewards.
Registration for the 300 available spots opens on the 11th via the Seoul Public Service Reservation website or Dongma Club on a first-come, first-served basis. This initiative is part of a broader effort to revitalize the night economy, which includes the introduction of 10 billion won worth of 'Moonlight Vouchers.'
