Seoul travel guidebook by Maro to be released in September

Shufu no Tomo Sha has announced the release of ‘Dakara, Hitori Seoul’ (Because I am Alone in Seoul), a new guidebook authored by solo-travel expert Maro. Scheduled for release on September 18, 2026, the book focuses on a tranquil and aesthetic side of Seoul, moving away from typical high-energy shopping and trend-focused tourism.

The guide explores five specific themes for solo travelers: tea and sweets, Korean traditional beauty and museums, nourishing local cuisine, urban oases like parks and palaces, and hotels designed for a lifestyle-oriented stay. A special feature highlights the Seochon area, which the author credits as her inspiration for frequent solo trips to the city.

In addition to travel tips and dining advice for solo visitors, the publisher will host a commemorative talk show and signing event on October 16, 2026, in Shinagawa, Tokyo.
