SEP expands primary education services in Los Cabos

The Baja California Sur Secretariat of Public Education (SEP) has expanded educational services in Los Cabos through the opening of a new primary school in San José del Cabo. The facility, which began operations for the 2026-2027 school year, was repurposed from a former private school following successful ownership transfer negotiations.

Additionally, the SEP increased capacity at the La Ballena site in San José del Cabo. This expansion included the opening of three additional groups across both shifts to serve all six grade levels with a full teaching staff. Edgar Ruelas Andrade, Director of Primary Education, stated that these measures, including group increases in other plants, are part of a strategy to address growing enrollment and ensure access to basic education with adequate infrastructure and personnel.
