Formula 1 returns to Sepang with Bahrain Grand Prix in Malaysia
Formula 1 is set to return to the Sepang International Circuit in Malaysia from October 2 to 4 for the Bahrain Grand Prix. This event marks the circuit's first hosting of the sport since 2017.
Pirelli has announced the tire compound selection for the upcoming Asian triple-header. For the race in Sepang, the manufacturer will use the C2, C3, and C4 compounds. This decision was made to encourage strategic variety by reducing the lap time gap between one-stop and two-stop pit strategies, despite the circuit's abrasive asphalt which has not been resurfaced since 2017.
In Malaysia, Tengku Amir Shah Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah emphasized that the event serves as a platform to showcase the nation's stability and its capability to host world-class international events. He encouraged the government to utilize the global attention to promote tourism in preparation for Visit Malaysia Year 2026.
