Separate house fires reported in Itu and Guaramirim

Two distinct residential fires have been reported in Brazil. In Itu, a 67-year-old woman died after a fire broke out in her home in the Doninha neighborhood. Firefighters responded to the scene around 5:22 a.m., using approximately 5,000 liters of water to combat the flames. The victim was found deceased in a bedroom. The cause of the fire remains unknown and is under investigation by the Civil Police.

In Guaramirim, Santa Catarina, a fire destroyed a home and damaged a vehicle in the Nova Esperança neighborhood. A 67-year-old woman was injured in the blaze and transported to Santo Antônio Hospital. Following the incident, military police arrested a man at the scene. Preliminary reports suggest the individual allegedly assaulted the elderly woman before the fire started. The Civil Police are investigating the incident as a potential arson and assault case.
