Sepehran Airlines Boeing 737 veers off runway in Mashhad

A Sepehran Airlines Boeing 737-500 veered off the runway after landing at Mashhad International Airport on August 25, 2026. The aircraft, operating flight IS4310 from Tehran Mehrabad Airport, entered an unpaved area while traveling at high speed.

All 127 passengers and crew members were evacuated safely, and no injuries or fatalities were reported. Following the incident, images showed the aircraft resting nose-down, suggesting the nose landing gear may have collapsed.

The Iran Civil Aviation Organization has launched an investigation to determine the cause of the excursion. While the landing was initially described as normal with no technical problems reported beforehand, authorities are looking into why the plane departed the paved surface. The incident led to the temporary closure of Runway 13R and Taxiway Q at Mashhad International Airport.

The aircraft involved, registered as EP-FSF, is a 34-year-old model built in 1992. It previously operated for various international carriers, including Sabena, before joining Sepehran Airlines in 2016.
