Seplat Energy pledges expanded education investment across Nigeria at Africa Social Impact Summit

Seplat Energy Plc, Nigeria's leading indigenous energy firm, reaffirmed its commitment to advancing education and building Africa’s future workforce at the 2026 Africa Social Impact Summit (ASIS). The company sponsored the plenary session “Powering Africa’s Future: Private Sector Leadership in Education Transformation,” which gathered policymakers, business leaders, development partners, academics and education stakeholders.

Chief Executive Officer Roger Brown, represented by Director Chioma Afe, said the partnership with ASIS is a step beyond dialogue to concrete action, stressing that collaboration among government, private sector and development organisations is essential. Seplat highlighted ongoing investments in its host communities in Edo, Delta and Imo states, with plans to extend programmes to Akwa Ibom. Initiatives cover basic and secondary schooling, tertiary scholarships, teacher‑empowerment programmes, STEAM education through the Access to Energy initiative and dedicated STEAM laboratories, and the Seplat Innovation Programme, which encourages secondary‑school students to develop clean‑energy solutions in partnership with the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL).
