Sepomex issues Chile en Nogada stamps to honor Puebla tradition
The Mexican Postal Service (Sepomex) has launched a new postage stamp series featuring Chile en Nogada, a traditional dish from the state of Puebla. An issuance of 300,000 stamps was announced to celebrate the culinary heritage and the work of local producers and cooks.
During the presentation in Puebla, Governor Alejandro Armenta and Sepomex Director General Violeta Abreu González highlighted the importance of preserving national identity through gastronomy. The stamp design incorporates key ingredients such as poblano chili, walnuts, apple, pear, peach, pomegranate, and parsley.
In addition to the philatelic release, 20 bicycles were delivered to Correos de México to assist postal workers in Puebla. These bicycles were designed and adapted by the state-owned technological development company Yankuilotl to facilitate daily delivery routes.
