Sepp Kuss climbs to 5th overall in Vuelta a España

Sepp Kuss climbed from 11th to 5th place in the general classification of the Vuelta a España following a major performance on stage 20. Entering the Queen stage 11:04 behind leader Enric Mas, Kuss launched an aggressive attack on the first ascent of the Puerto de El Purche with over 100km remaining.

Kuss benefited from a strategic team effort by Visma | Lease a Bike. Teammates Wout van Aert and Jørgen Nordhaagen were positioned in the breakaway, allowing Kuss to link up with them once he had established a significant gap. Van Aert provided early assistance, while Nordhaagen helped pull Kuss on the final climb.

While the main group of podium contenders, including Enric Mas, Primoz Roglic, and Felix Gall, neutralized one another, Kuss was able to gain substantial time, eventually finishing more than five minutes ahead of the red jersey group.
