Seppelt wine brand sold by Treasury Wine Estates

Treasury Wine Estates (TWE) has agreed to sell the historic Australian wine brand Seppelt to a group led by Aaron Drummond, the CEO and co-owner of Victoria-based winery Stonier. The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The transaction includes the Seppelt brand, the Great Western winery, the Drumborg vineyard near Portland, and approximately 740 acres of vineyards across Victoria and South Australia. The sale is part of a broader strategy by TWE to simplify its production structure and focus on core brands by disposing of non-core assets.

Seppelt has a long history in Australian viticulture, with roots dating back to 1851. The acquisition is expected to keep the brand and its winemaking operations under Victorian ownership. The deal is slated for completion next month, subject to relevant conditions.
